First post

I shall begin. The curriculum is in the mail. Supposedly it will be here tomorrow. Every time I review the sample I found online, I get more and more excited.

Hannah is beyond ready for this, as far as I can tell. She is way past all the preschool packs. She still thinks they are awesome, but I can tell they are not challenging at all. She is already doing a lot of math, whether she realizes it or not. She wants to learn how to read.

We will begin sometime this spring/summer so that when things get crazy in October with the baby's arrival, we can take non-guilt-inducing breaks as needed. I have chosen My Father's World-Kindergarten to start. It is for 5 yr olds and 'mature 4 year olds' and takes 60-90 min a day to complete. One of my favorite aspects is that is in 6-day units instead of the traditional 5days/week/unit. This allows for much more flexibility. Want to take a field trip? Skip a day. Someone gets sick for 3 days? Pick up where you left off and don't worry a bit about rushing to finish up by this Friday. Also, the price is right. Especially compared to others I've seen.
